Database Access Changes

For a number of years staff and students have been able to locate and access journal articles via Library databases in a number of ways. Primarily these access points have been via the Library Catalogue, the Indoor platform, and our MetaQuest platform.

On the 14th November the long serving Indoor platform will be retired from service and several enhancements made to the MetaQuest platform that will improve its functionality .

Access to Indoor from the Library website will no longer be available and all users will be directed to the MetaQuest platform. If you are a long time Indoor user unfamiliar with MetaQuest, or perhaps you need a refresher on what MetaQuest can do, the Library can help. Students can take advantage of Library training in the use of these resources and should check our Training Timetables for help. Staff should contact their Faculty Librarian and seek assistance.

Win a prize - Library Online Survey

From October 20th to November 2nd 2008, your library will be running an online customer service survey and this is a great opportunity for all our students and staff to tell us what they think about current library resources and services, and what they would like to see improved for the future development of our library services.

By participating in the survey you will also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a $100 bookshop gift voucher.

Watch the library website for details from next week and have your say.

The Mt Lawley Library refurbishment, which first commenced in December 2007, is nearing completion. Already students and staff are enjoying the welcoming entrance, group study rooms and improved access to the print collections. Still to come are additional computers on level 2, signage and graphics, and new furniture.

It has been a difficult time for students and we would like to thank you for your patience and tolerance during the past year. Mt Lawley Library staff have worked especially hard to provide full library services in spite of the demolition, dust, noise and general upheaval. We hope you enjoy your new Library and will take advantage of the new learning spaces and other facilities. However let us know if there is anything else we can do to improve library services.
